Job Description

Organised, methodical and enjoy compliance Do you have a real eye for the finer detailAn opportunity has arisen for Compliance & Fleet Manager within the Logistics Division. The role will be centred around leading the compliance team, but also responsible for multiple operating centres across the division.At DFDS people mean the world to us. The previous holder of this role has moved into a wider group position, and we therefore need continuity within the current team.The ideal candidate will have a minimum 2 years experience in a Transport Manager / Compliance type role, with a very strong understanding of driver hours. A proactive individual with the personality and communications skills enabling effortless interactionacross multiple team environments & operations. We are looking for you to be adaptable & flexible, working in a dynamic and fast paced operation, exhibiting the ability to remain calm under pressure. We require you to hold your International CPC, and be confidentanalysing and reporting on data, as you will be expected to work towards existing KPI s, collaborating with the local management team.Main responsibilities of the role:

  • Leading the compliance team based at Killingholme, responsible for multiple operating centres.
  • Work closely with the drivers, planners, and outlying depots to ensure fleet and drivers remain compliant whilst being flexible towards operational requirements.
  • Ensure we are constantly educating our drivers on legislation such as driver hours, vehicle checks and license requirements.
  • Organise all driver training including DFDS modules, CPC and FORS, etc.
  • Ensure vehicle safety and compliance is always in line with operators licence requirements.
  • Managing service & MOT schedule along with fleet defects, maintaining a high level of compliance whilst limiting the operational impact.
  • Ensure compliance with external standards & accreditations including Fleet and Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS), Direct Vision Standard (DVS).
  • Ensure drivers are compliant to all legal working directives and the health and safety is always maintained to a high standard.
  • Working within budgetary and financial controls of the dry trucking fleet.
  • Work with group compliance to manage and adhere to all DFDS policies, operating procedures, and standards through monitoring protocols and audits.
  • Management of incident investigation and reporting.
  • Adhere to all government regulations and legislations, undertaking training as appropriate to keep up to date with new Government legislation and DFDS group compliance.
  • Actively build and develop relationships with suppliers.
