Job title: Mechanical Wagon Fitter Job location: Holgate Depot, York Hourly pay rate: £14.90 per hour PAYE Shifts: Days Hours per week: 40 hours per week plus occasional overtime Duration: 3 Months with possible extension Start date: Immediate Industries considered: Rolling Stock Disciplines considered: Mechanical Fitting Client Summary: Service and repair of Rail Freight Rolling StockPosition SummaryWe are looking for a number of Team Players to join a small but busy team responsible for the strip and build of Rail Freight Wagons Working a day shift within the heart of the Clients Site, the role will involve the complete strip and disassembly of Rail Freight Wagons and ultimately re-assembly using new or refurbished components before releasing back to the client as a newly refurbishedwagon.Person Profile/Experience:We are looking for technically capable fitters with at least 12 months experience of working on Rail Wagons, rolling stock, HGV or heavy mobile plant, ex-Military with a suitable technical/engineering background encouraged to apply. You will be hands on, competentand confident on the tools and be capable of working to engineering drawings and schematicsYour experience will be predominantly within a mechanically biased backgroundYou will be physically fit and healthy, have a good sense of humour and be prepared to work outdoors where required. Due to the nature of the work/role, an appreciation of H&S at work is essential, plus in line with Rail Industry Protocols there is a zero policy re being under the influence of Drugs & Alcohol whilst at work.
