Food Laboratory Technician (Quality)Gi Group Scarborough is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing company in York area who are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our clients friendly, close-knit production team.You will become a key member of the site Food Safety team, performing and monitoring food safety related microbiological tests in line with company and legal requirements. You will identify trends and opportunities for improvement and recommend any associated preventative and corrective actions. This position would suit a Quality Control Laboratory Technician, looking to further their career.Key responsibilities of this role will include:* Complete sampling, testing and positively releasing all raw materials and packaging to ensure materials supplied are in line with quality standards* Where required raise, investigate and close out non-conformances related to Raw materials and Packaging* Perform internal audits, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Hygiene audits and compliance checks* Ensure all quality and Health & Safety, process control, hygiene, housekeeping and hygiene standards are to a consistently high standard at all times through daily and weekly checks* Plating, QA auditing, FAT analysis, following test and sampling schedule* Ensure all sampling (product and environmental) is conducted against the sampling plans, for Microbiological, Chemical and Environmental* Complete Daily QC Checks to assist with Traceability* Report issues with Raw Materials to the QA ManagerSkills & Essentials:* Previous work experience of practical microbiological testing on food products* Experience in working in a QC Lab* Methodical and organised* Good understanding of statistical process control and problem solving* Ability to work on own with minimal supervision and be able to organise workload* An analytical thinker with a keen eye for detail* Experience in the use of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word* A keen interest in continuous improvement activities and able to demonstrate a problem-solving mind-set* Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across both internal and external stakeholders.We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic person to join the team; you will need to be an agile individual with excellent attention to detail to succeed in a fast-paced environment.Due to location and duties involved in the role, a full valid driving license and TRANSPORT is required.Gi Group Holdings Recruitment Limited group of companies includes Gi Recruitment Limited, Draefern Limited, Gi Group Recruitment Ltd, INTOO (UK) Limited, Marks Sattin (UK) Limited, TACK TMI UK Limited and Grafton Professional Staffing Limited.
