Job Description

HSE ManagerWe are looking for a credible HSE Manager who has a passion for the well-being of employees and the environment. This is a permanent position at a Global leading manufacturer based in East Yorkshire, offering a competitive salary where you will be responsiblefor the management & improvement of health & safety for several sites.As the HSE Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Youll be responsible for the management and improvement of the health, safety, and environmental performance of our UK Sites in line with organisational HSE strategy.
  • You will have a NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma or equivalent or working towards it, alongside extensive experience in championing workplace safety and environmental awareness, driving compliance through employee engagement and knowledge sharing.
HSE Manager Job Duties:
  • You will drive and improve performance by implementing H&S strategic direction within the business, encouraging a safety-first culture.
  • You will run HSE related training and competency programmes for the UK sites.
  • You will conduct regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are adhered to, working with managers to develop and implement processes in line with compliance needs.
  • You will be responsible for reporting HSE KPIs to senior leadership and conducting relevant activities regarding legislation updates and strategic alignment.
  • You will develop a robust environmental improvement plan in line with the organisational strategy to encourage continuous improvement around the sites.
  • You will be the key contact for all HSE enquiries, issues and record keeping.
  • You will manage and maintain ISO certifications related to HSE.
  • You will need to ensure the legal compliance register is updated and any relevant actions are communicated and closed out in a timely manner.
  • You will conduct gap analysis to plan for the achievement of the ISO accreditation.
HSE Manager Key Skills:
  • NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma (or working towards it) or equivalent is essential
  • IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management is desirable
  • ISO Auditor
  • Strong HSE knowledge and experience
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Membership of IOSH (Desirable)
  • Membership of IEMA (Desirable)
HSE Manager Personal Attributes:
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organisation, has strong presence and impact to influence directors and managers. Comes across as robust and credible.
  • Able to tailor communication to different stakeholder groups.
  • Able to prioritise and meet deadlines
