Job Description

We are currently looking for an Upstream Development Scientist (Fermentation) to join an innovative biologics company based in the North East. As the Upstream Development Scientist, you will be aiding with upstream process development for biopharmaceutical production with a large focus on fermentation.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Your duties as the Upstream Development Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:Designing, developing and scaling-up upstream processes with a primary focus on fermentation for microbial cells (such as yeast and E.Coli) but also some work with mammalian cells.Using various bioreactor and fermentor systems such as Satorius, Applikon and Infors. Aiding the process development from bench to pilot scale using high through up systems such as Ambr15 and Ambr250.4. Adhering to cGMP standards and completing documentation for HSE guidelines. ROLE REQUIREMENTS:To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Upstream Development Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:1. A relevant undergraduate or masters degree in a biologics related subject is a necessity such as biotechnology, bioprocessing, microbiology etc....2. Proven industry experience in a research or industrial environment is ideal, especially in an upstream processing role with fermentation experience. 3.
