Job Description

DBANRG are currently recruiting for a Database Administrator to join a well established MSP in Newcastle. This is an essential role to provide database administration, configuration, performance tuning and DB software installation to external clients.Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of existing databases and lead on a project to migrate the database to a more robust platform
  • Management of the existing database cluster, backups and development database.
  • Ensure adequate backups are in place for customer and internal databases.
  • Ensure data integrity through design of the database and reporting of anomalies.
  • Manage the change process for enhancements to the database.
  • Troubleshoot and optimise the performance in any areas of concern in existing databases.
    • Experience:
  • Good understating of: MySQL, Clustering, MariaDB / MongoDB, ProxySQL, PostgreSQL and SQLlite and related packages.
  • Considerable experience as a DBA in a commercial environment.
  • Database and data warehouse design experience
  • Experience working with multiple database environments.
  • Database design, normalisation, optimisation and resilience.
