Working as part of a small team, the successful candidate will work with the Acting Central Research Leader (Operations) and other members of the Research team to drive a culture of creativity and innovation.The position offers the chance to immerse yourself into the firm and gain exposure to a broad range of research topics across design, planning and engineering disciplines.Specifically, you will be involved in - Collaborate with Research faculty colleaguesto develop strategies and action plans promoting research excellence and innovation Coordinate and oversee the global research portfolio, including reviewing internal research proposals and monitoring portfolio progress Connect with internal stakeholders tounderstand business problems and identify research needs Work with internal teams to advise on the scoping, management and conduct of research Collaborate with colleagues on pathways to scale research outcomes to business practice Structure external researchcollaborations and build strong external partnerships Collaborate with colleagues to represent Arups research offer to internal and external audiences ambitions Work with the Acting Central Research Leader to manage and monitor processes and shared team resourcesLiaise with counterparts from other Arup offices on firmwide research issuesTo achieve in this role, you are likely to ... Hold a Masters or Bachelor Degree in any discipline Minimum of six years of working experience in a research and innovation related fieldSolid understanding of various quantitative research methods and techniques (qualitative knowledge desirable) Experience managing a portfolio of interconnected projects Show flexibility and curiosity in moving between projects in different markets Connectionswith academic institutions, start-up ecosystems and funding bodies a distinct advantage Ability to think strategically as well as an attention to detail that ensures a high quality of work An organised team player willing to develop the role Excellent peopleskills with an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of managerial and operational staff Rewards and BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary at all levels, and one of the best benefits packages in our sector.Core benefits include cover under theUK Healthcare Plan (private medical insurance), Life Assurance, Accident Insurance, and Income Protection (long term disability) cover.
