Job Description

Westray Recruitment Group are working with our client who have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. You will be working on a prestigious projects in the Teesside area.Our client is looking for an individual who will embrace and strive against the company four core values: Integrity, collaboration, communication and empowerment. Furthermore, the project team are looking for committed talent, who embracelongevity within their role, and look to be part of an innovative project team. 1 The main purpose of the role is to manage the cost of all construction projects - from initial estimates, right through to the final acquisition of materials and bills of quantity, whilst ensuring clients are provided with quality service.2 Obtain and evaluate information to ensure a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials and services for designated planned and preventative projects/contracts.3 Whilst liaising with contractors, suppliers and clients to ensure information, costs, profitability and value meet the requirements of designated project/contracts.4 Liasing with the companies estimatorsYou will be responsible for:To act in the full professional capacity as a project QS & lead projects to ensure they are completed within a set budget.Work autonomously by leading on cost planning and control of projects, whilst having the ability to make ultimate decisions on the financial management of projects.To undertake all aspects of cost planning and analysis, life cycle costing and budgetary control.Providing cost advice at inception and feasibility stages of projects and when bidding for funding from external sources.To liaise with both internal and external clients dealing with queries and requests for information, as well as providing advice necessary to control costs and to maintain profitability for all projects.Receive working drawings and specifications before leading in the preparation of tender documents including schedules & bills of quantities, to meet client requirements,Ensuring that costs are kept within the approved cost plan and budget.To analyse tenders and prepare reports for acceptance.Ensure that aspects of Health and Safety are properly observed in the office and on site and any other appointed duties are carried out in accordance with the C.D.M. RegsTo understand the H&S responsibilities which fall within a managers role and the personal H&S responsibilitiesTo ensure that all activities are operated in accordance with legislation and Best Practice.Job Summary / PerformanceObjective to achieve-Assist with construction and contract administration and settlement of construction disputes-Ability to implement procedures to quantify and cost construction works, including the use of appropriate standardmethods of measurement-Cost estimation, cost evaluation, cost comparison, assist and report to Contract managerTask& Responsibility(Routine Jobs)-Assist with the preparation of tender documents, bills of quantities, contract document, analysetenders-Assist with the preparation of estimates, cost planning& analysis and cash flow forecasts-Assist in the preparation of advice on contract procurement-Regular reporting to clients regarding project progress and any issues that have arisen-Track all payments made for both labourand materials-Ability to measure works on site and from drawings including competence with electronic measurement systems(Weekly / Monthly Jobs)-Preparation and submit main-contractors progress claim to the client-Regular evaluation and reporting monthly to client regarding project progress and any issues that have arisenAbout youYou will be an energetic self-starter, who will contribute to a busy, high performing team.You will have a mininum of 6 years experience in the construction sectorAn experienced and Quantity Surveyor ideally with a background in the construction of large multi-million pound projects.Qualifications-Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, or recognized conversion Diploma/Degree or a Construction/Engineeringdegree-Ideally possess or working towards MRICS-Bachelor Degree holder in Quantity Surveying discipline or equivalent-Practical experience in working on large-scale manufacturingfacility projects is advantageous-Knowledge of standard methods of measurement for construction works-(Senior)Over10 years experience in an QS career / (QS) over 5 years / (Junior) over 3 yearsWHAT ARE THE FINER DETAILS OF YOUR ROLEThis is a permanent role centring on day shift hoursWHAT SALARY PACKAGE YOU WILL BE RECEIVINGSalary is negotiable with experienceCirca £ depending on experienceCompany benefits include:Paid annual holidays + bank holidaysIf interested please contact David Inkles on
