Job Description

Do you want to work for an organisation who value your ideas, and empowers you to make a difference Are you ready to generate new ideas and push existing boundaries Our client is currently looking for someone to join their team as Production Planner and Data Controller.The company Our client is a global manufacturing and distribution company who complete commercial and residential projects all over the world. They focus on surfaces and laminates used for furniture, office and retail space, countertops, and worktops. They sell their products through a network of company-owned independent distributors across North America and internationally.The role As Product Planner and Data Controller, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling all customers’ orders. You will make recommendations to improve quality and efficient of the production planning process, working cross-functionally with the purchasing and production teams.You will create and maintain part data for finished goods, bills of materials (BOMs) and bills of operations (BOOS), operation sequence and processes and final assemblies.Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting manufacturing and operations teams with product planning
  • Managing the master production schedule and recording them on the system
  • Balancing workload to meet customer demands
  • Assessing potential supply chain developments and improvements
  • Supporting new product introduction projects and ensuring they are achievable
  • Responsible for the accuracy of all BOMs and BOOS
  • Work in accordance to processes and safety requirements
  • Co-ordinating production information with the relevant teams
  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • The requirements You’ll have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an engineering or manufacturing discipline in a production planning position. Other requirements include:
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
  • Experience of working with MRP/ERP systems
  • Strong understanding of integrated processes
  • Good track record in production and/or materials planning with understanding of manufacturing planning systems
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills
  • Experience with internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Understanding of the automotive industry standards and regulations
  • Strong attitude to take risks and responsibilities
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong computer literacy skills (including Microsoft Office)
