PHP Developer required for the UKs largest independent retailer. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a senior PHP developer to join their development team based in the North East however this role can be performed fully remote.The salary on offer is around the £40,000 per annum mark. All applicants must have full right to work in the UK. This is a permanent position.The right candidate will have at least 2 years of commercial experience working as a PHP developer. The candidate will have the opportunity to be a part of an exciting, dynamic company that is heavily investing in the future of its IT department.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on the main website, the brand, and a multitude of internal systems. They gave an array of systems on a LAMP stack and, more recently, are developing new systems as containerised PHP applicationsin Docker.Core Skills - Ability to work quickly and efficiently as part of an Agile team of developers.- Work effectively both as part of a team, and as an individual.- Be an excellent communicator within the team and the rest of the business.- Possess effective time management.- Have a genuine interest in the latest development techniques and technologies.Technical Skills Required - Strong Object Oriented PHP experience.- 2+ years of experience in backend PHP development.- Experience developing for a LAMP stack.- Good understanding of version control systems (e.g. Git).- Good understanding of MySQL, or similar relational database software.Desirable - Experience working with, designing or implementing JSON-based RESTful APIs.- E-commerce experience.- Experience with the Laminas (formerly Zend)/Symfony frameworks or similar.- Understanding of HTML/CSS/JS.- Experience with Docker, or similar container-based technologies.- Experience working under the Agile methodology.Company Benefits- Staff discount- Flexible working hours- Flexible with remote working- Pension- Free on-site Company Gym- Free on-site parking- 28 days holiday entitlement (inc. bank holidays), increases to 33 days with continuous employment- Cycle to Work scheme- On-site canteenIf this role is of interest to you, please apply with your CV and I will be in touch in due course!
