Job Description

Reference: TS/KP/29-04/AWJob Title: Maintenance EngineerContract: Permanent, Full-TimeLocation: North EnglandWould you be interested to join a leading facilities management company with a reputation for excellence Atalian Servest is currently recruiting an Maintenance Engineer to join our passionate and driven team in North England!Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • To undertake PPM, proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within set time frames so that the customer expectations are met.
  • To be experienced in multi-disciplined trade work in electrical distribution systems (LV), mechanical ventilation, chillers, plumbing/CWST systems and LTHW/MTHW heating services.
  • To provide emergency callout response for the client as required and work as part of a call out Rota.
  • To undertake contractor control duties on behalf of the client, including monitoring contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met.
  • To ensure that equipment operates to specified performance criteria.
  • To ensure equipment and surrounding area conform to agreed company standards.
  • To provide a professional service and represent the company in a way that ensures customer satisfaction.
  • To evaluate performance and ensure the proper servicing and maintenance of equipment under contract to the company is carried out.
  • To take a proactive approach to client liaison and ensure that concerns are dealt with or relayed to management as necessary.
  • To be fully aware of contractual requirements and customer needs at all times.
  • To ensure that administration requirements are actioned on time and all necessary documents/records are maintained accurately.
  • Working safely at all times, complying with current Health & Safety legislation and Arthur McKay & Co Ltd H&S policy.
  • To provide a professional service and represent the company in a way that ensures customer satisfaction.
  • To take a proactive approach to client liaison and ensure that concerns are dealt with or relayed to management as necessary.
  • To be fully aware of contractual requirements and customer needs at all times.
  • Working safely at all times, complying with current Health & Safety legislation and Servest Arthur McKay & Co Ltd H&S policy.
  • To ensure equipment and surrounding area conform to agreed company Health, safety and quality standards and that works are delivered by RAMS and CPP.
  • Ensuring risk assessments, method statements and toolbox talks are completed as required.
  • Experience of permit to work controls for contractors
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
  • Approved Electrician NVQ level 3 / City & Guilds 2391 / 17th edition.
  • Optional experience in Plumbing, Water Systems and Mechanical Ventilation systems.
  • Legionella Training.
  • CSCS Skills card.
  • PASMA/IPAF.
  • SSSTS (Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme).
  • Previous experience working within building maintenance, projects and minor works environment.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Full disclosure is a contractual requirement.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work safely at all times and the ability to understand the contract and Health & Safety requirements/regulations.
  • To attempt to solve issues in the first instance in a manner that will not put the clients products or people at risk.
  • Possess effective communication skills with the ability to write technical reports and or communicate verbally with the Manager, helpdesk and client representatives.
  • Ability to use electronic handheld devices.
  • Ability to identify issues or risks that require escalation as necessary to the Manager.
  • Additionally this role will require Disclosure Scotland Clearance. Baseline or other similar security clearance may also be required.
