GLOBAL ONLINE MARKETPLACE (PRE-IPO)LEGAL COUNSEL OR SENIOR LEGAL COUNSELFULLY REMOTE WORKINGOur client is a global online marketplace operating in over 40 countries. Founded c. 15 years ago, it is a pre-IPO scale-up and one of the Financial Times Europes 1000 Fastest Growing Companies. It is a fantastic blend of a well-established & stable companywith a dynamic, entrepreneurial culture. Owing to its accelerated and continued growth, we are recruiting their first dedicated in-house lawyer.Reporting to the MD, you will manage one paralegal as well as external counsel across a number of areas. You will be a generalist commercial lawyer, ideally with some prior e-commerce/digital markets/IP experience. The level of PQE can vary; we are lookingfor pro-active, self-motivated lawyers with commercial nous who will be effective in dealing with the Board/senior stakeholders and instructing external lawyers. This is likely to come with at least 5-6 years PQE though we are open to less experienced, brightand ambitious lawyers with lots of long term potential OR someone much more senior who is keen on a "doing" role in a company in build mode. This role is perfect for either a lawyer wishing to leave private practice in favour of an in-house role and/or an aspirational commercial lawyer already in-house who wants to become a Head of Legal/General Counsel in time. The culture is friendly, supportive and collegiate with an emphasis on well-being and work-life balance (the business operates a 35-hour week). You must be comfortable working remotely and adept in establishing strong relationships and trust via VC, Slack,Teams etc. The business is headquartered in the North of England and it would be great for candidates with prior connections to the area, though this is by no means a requirement. Please let us know ASAP if you are interested in this wonderful opportunity!
