Job Description

The Opportunity:Nigel Wright Recruitment has been retained by a highly successful, privately owned, market leading manufacturing business in North East England, to lead the search for a Head of Sales and Marketing. The position will sit on the Company leadership team, reportingdirectly to the Managing Director. The organisation is a market leader in the UK and has diversified its offering to take new products to new markets in Europe and USA, where it has growing revenue streams. The position can be home based anywhere in theUK, with good access to an international airport. Role Profile:

  • Commercial engagement and management of core UK customer base.
  • Overseeing the external sales team, coaching, developing and performance managing as appropriate.
  • Personal targeted business development activities to generate opportunities with prospective internationalcustomers and distributors. The Scandinavian and Germanic speaking nations and the USA have been areas of particular success thus far.
  • Sector mapping to inform the business development strategy and providing related guidance to the sales team.
  • Engagement with the internal operations and logistics stakeholders to establish the viability of the proposition being presented to prospective, existing and repeat customers.
  • Upline reporting to the MD and the shareholders on business performance and the sales pipeline.
Package:
  • Circa £90K - £120K basic.
  • Ability to double salary in bonus.
Person Specification:
  • UK based, with comfortable access to an international airport.
  • Experience of driving external sales teams and growing revenue streams through new business acquisition internationally (Europe and USA).
  • A track record in both distribution and direct to B2B end users.
  • Ideally from a B2B manufacturing sector background.
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills, with the ability to adapt style according to the audience.
  • A resilient and proactive nature, with a natural appetite for generating new commercial opportunities.
  • The ability to engage with large blue chip organisations and c-suite individuals.
  • Excellent business presentation skills, with an analytical approach to prospect and sales performance data.
  • A natural inclination to drive high margin opportunities.
