Head of Communications & FundraisingBuxton Opera House, BuxtonUp to £44,000 per annum depending on experienceFull time, permanentBuxton Opera House is a beautiful Edwardian theatre and one of the countrys finest examples of Frank Matcham theatre design.Under the leadership of Paul Kerryson, CEO, Buxton Opera House has become one of Britains leading receiving theatres. Our programme comprises around 450 performances each year including dance, comedy, childrens shows, drama, live music, pantomime and opera,whilst the recently opened Buxton Cinema in the adjacent Pavilion Arts Centre presents over 600 screenings each year. The Opera House is also home to the renowned Buxton International Festival, now celebrating its 40th year, as well as a lively Fringe Theatreand Community and Education Programme.In common with all theatres and cultural organisations, Covid-19 has inevitably had an impact on Buxton Opera House. We have just reopened our doors with a triumphant Festival programme, including our coproduction of StephenSondheims A Little Night Music, which received rave reviews in the national press. We are now set to make a complete recovery from the impact of the pandemic with ambitions for growth over the next few years with a newly created Communications and Fundraisingteam. The Head of Communications and Fundraising will lead and manage the team as we enter into this exciting new phase of development. The postholder will provide clear and ambitious communication, marketing and fundraising strategies, working closely withinternal and external stakeholders and in alignment with High Peak Borough Councils cultural and heritage plans and visitor economy strategy.The Head of Communications and Fundraising is a key senior management position. The postholder will be expected toeffectively manage local, national and industry communications, maximise coverage of raising awareness of Buxton Opera Houses artistic programme and generate income from trusts, foundations, businesses, individuals and statutory sources. Demonstrable experienceof communications and campaign development and delivery within the arts, a minimum of five years fundraising experience with a track record of raising five figure sums and the ability to deliver a high standard of customer service to both colleagues and externalstakeholders both online and face-to-face is essential.We want to employ passionate, hard-working and dedicated individuals; if this is you, do consider applying to work with us even if you dont meet all the criteria in job specification - we want to hearfrom you.Ideally you will start as soon as possible, but we accept that notice may need to be worked.
