Job Description

About the roleJob title: MI AnalystLocation: Team Valley and covering across the North East (however the role can be based out of any of our regional offices including: Gateshead, Whiteley, Taunton, Sheffield)Salary: £25,220.00 (plus 30 days annual leave and other flexible benefits)We are recruiting an MI Analyst for a brand-new programme in the North East at Education Development Trust called Making a Difference North East.What is Making a Difference North EastMaking a Difference North East is a European Social Fund (ESF) match funded programme which is designed to support 4,600 unemployed or economically inactive participants in the North East LEP area, helping them to become either job-search ready or move into paid employment. Through Making a Difference, each participant will be supported by an employment coach, who will provide careers support, coaching and mentoring to help customers to make progress towards their learning and employment goals.The MI Analyst role is to provide analysis and reporting on a range of management information relating to Education Development Trust (Careers) and the Making a Difference North East contract.The work may involve working in more than one location and there will be some travel involved in the job. It may be necessary to work outside normal office hours from time to time. This job description needs to be considered in the context of a developing and evolving service and therefore the duties described above will be adapted to meet the needs of the project.The successful candidate will have worked in a data management/data handling environment as well as working within a target driven environment. An understanding of Careers IAG sector and/or Education sector would be desirable for this role, however this is not essential.A list of key objectives can be found in the JD below.Person specification:KnowledgeEssential:

  • An ICT qualification at Level 3 (or equivalent) or with relevant data handling experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft packages including, Excel (V Look Ups, Pivot Table and Macros), Access, Word & PowerPoint
  • Modify and run SQL reports
  • Understanding of and commitment to data security and safeguarding policies
  • Knowledge of quality monitoring systems to ensure databases are running error free
  • SkillsEssential:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, verbal, written and oral
  • Be able to accurately extract and interpret data into meaningful reports for MI and stakeholders
  • Be able to identify problems/issues and suggest or recommend solutions
  • Excellent organisational skills to include self-management of own time and prioritisation of tasks within projects
  • High degree of accuracy is required and the ability to solve data issues accurately to avoid downtime
  • Ability to make presentations and deliver training on computer systems, taking into account varying levels of knowledge and ability
