Job Description

Cyber Security Engineer - Permanent Job - 50k+ package - Location: Frimley, Filton and WeymouthBecome a Cyber Security Engineer for one of the Worlds leading defence companies. Would you like the opportunity to join a growing part of a leading defencecompany and work on interesting and dynamic projects, influencing the design, development and supply of leading complex systems across our latest defence platforms. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the Integrated Combat Systems area, which designs,builds, integrates and supports systems in a UK fleet.What you will be doing: You will be a focal point for security and information risk matters.You will apply your expertise and experience to ensure that submarine systems and products are delivered and canbe managed and supported through-life.Identifying and supporting engineering activities in your area of responsibility.Understand and report on programme status and support the implementation of key security practices that plays a critical role in our nationsdefence.Provide advice on Information System (Product) Security matters for programmes to Engineering Managers and Technical Authorities as required to internal and external customers.Contributing and influencing development and maintenance of Product Security(PSEC) strategies, policies, guidance and awareness.Gain a sufficient understanding of a system, its concept of use and architectures provide accurate assessments of a product security threats, potential avenues of attack, and or compliance to standards andbest practice.Ensure that Product Security analysis of a project, system or equipment, is delivered and is managed using recognised risk analysis techniques and documentationPresent risks and proposed controls to internal and external stakeholders, to achieveagreement and buy-in.Represent the Product Security group at Design Reviews and working groups to ensure that Product Security is appropriately considered at each stage of the design life-cycle.You will support the management and planning of specialist activitiesand work packages and managing PSEC tools and applications.What our client is looking for:You will have a strong background in IT and information systems, architectures, and or applications development, implementation and through life management.Knowledgeof configuration control and change. A high level of understanding of the engineering lifecycle phase.You will have Technical leadership skills and experience coaching/mentoring others.Possess strong knowledge of Information/IT Security activities within thedefence sector, or closely linked domain.Ideally you will have: A recognised Cyber Security and/or ICT or Information System Qualifications. MSc or BSc in computer science, technology or security subject. Membership of Professional Body (e.g. IET, ISC2. BCS,) Project Management Qualification (PMP, PRINCE).Alongside excellent communication skills you will be comfortable interacting and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.
