What do we doWorld Land Trust (WLT) is an international conservation charity that helps to protect the worlds most biologically significant and threatened habitats, acre by acre.As the pioneers of the Buy an Acre approach, we have spent more than 30years raising funds for local people to secure and protect the land they know best in South America, Africa, Asia and beyond. With over 2,300,000 acres protected and 2,300,000 native trees funded to date, our ambition is to now drive this conservation actionat scale - and that, in this make-or-break decade for the planet, includes protecting some of the ecosystems key to mitigating catastrophic climate change. What is Our Carbon Balanced programmeWLTs Carbon Balanced programme helps organisations and individualstackle their carbon footprint through measuring, reducing and - only then - offsetting their unavoidable emissions through supporting WLTs impactful Carbon Balanced projects across the world.Through their offsetting donations, our Carbon Balanced supportersfund the protection of tropical forests in Vietnam, Guatemala, Mexico and Ecuador, which comes in the form of a portfolio of REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation) projects that WLTs conservation partners are implementing. Toensure all achieve the high-quality outcomes that our planet needs, it is critical to us that the impact from these projects remains measurable, verifiable and properly monitored.
