A bit about the School of Health & Society...Welcome to the School of Health and Society - a forward-thinking, dynamic school with a commitment to lifelong learning and real-world impact.Our School of Health & Society is one of the largest providers ofnursing, midwifery, social work and allied health professional education programmes in the UK, known for our track record of collaborating with a wide range of industry partners across health and social care to produce highly skilled graduates with real workexperience. Its everything we do and the way we do everything.The key strengths of the School of Health and Society lie in thebreadth of our offering across the span of health sciences; sport; public health; nursing; midwifery; allied health professions; social work; psychology; and social sciences.The School is a large dynamic multi-disciplined environment, and one of our key requirementsis to develop synergies between industry partners for the benefit of students to develop enterprise activity. The aim is to maximise the opportunities through the Universitys number one strategic driver, Industrial Collaboration, to co-create a unique studentand staff experience.The School is focused on the student experience, learning, teaching, research, and enterprise, building on an existing track record of good practice in working with partners in the public, private and third sectors. Through this engagement,the School will provide students with real life experience, work-based placements and project work which addresses clinical, health and / or service-based problems. Developing our relationship with our partners is therefore crucial in relation to programmedesign, delivery and assessment. The aim of the School is to build on these existing partnerships and develop new strategic partners, in order to further develop distinctive programmes, and research and enterprise activities which respond to employers needsand ensure that graduates from the School are work ready.About the role...Working closely with the Dean of School, PVC Research and Innovation and relevant functions of Professional Services in order to ensure alignment of the Enterprise and Engagement Strategywith that of the Universitys Strategic Plan and initiatives. The role will have a significant focus on delivering strategic initiatives within the School, with a requirement for a high level of outputs and outcomes which deliver significant improvements.The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the School meets targets for enterprise and knowledge exchange activity. The post holder will be the strategic developer and coordinator of School activity related to enterprise and engagement and will thereforeplay a significant role in informing and setting relevant School strategy. The Associate Deans will have responsibility for operating right across the School, rather than being attached to any one particular area, with autonomy and responsibility to coordinateactivity with other Associate Deans across the University.The role translates our Industry Collaboration strategy into relevant enterprise activity, building partnerships that bring meaningful teaching, learning and research activities into the School. Intaking forward the strategic elements of the role the post holders will operate with a firm external focus, considering opportunities for partnership working, and interdisciplinary, real world academic practice. This will require having strong knowledge baseof academic development and accreditation.In line with the Salford Behaviours and as key posts within the School Executive leadership team, the post holder will be a role model in visibly inspiring; aligning; collaborating; co-creating; enabling and evolvingcolleagues behaviours across the remit of the post.
