We provide care to girls and boys aged 11-17 on admission who have emotional and behavioural difficulties. We have a "GOOD" Ofsted ratingbut aspire to achieve Outstanding!We are looking for a motivated and committed Assistant Team Manager to join our well-established Team Manager to bring demonstrable experience of working with young people who have complex needs and to build meaningful andtrusting relationships with them. You will also need strong management skills to co-manage a large staff group and be able to guide and influence their practice, whilst ensuring practitioners receive reflective supervision to enable them to build authenticrelationships with children, young people and their families to create positive change.Having the ability to prioritise and think on your feet is key in this role as you will coordinate and prioritise tasks whilst acting as a role model to staff by buildingan open and transparent culture, maintaining a high degree of personal authority, initiative and autonomy.We are looking for someone with experience of working in a Childrens home, with managerial experience to deliver high standards of care, leadership andsafeguarding to children and young people with complex needs and disability. You will be confident, work well using your own initiative, possess excellent communication skills, be a good decision maker and have the ability to develop our team to their fullpotential.This role will require you to: Undertake operational duties such as overseeing the day to day management of the home, administrative aspects such as co-ordinating reports, policies and monitoring data. Be a self-aware and intuitive person who canwork with the therapeutic aspects of our care delivery which will include assessments, supporting the emotional and physical well-being of both the young people and your team. Deputise the running of the home in the Team Managers absence in order to ensurea high standard of day to day care for our young people. Support the Team Manager in ensuring effective delivery of service through the team, using HR methods including recruitment, induction, training, performance appraisal, succession planning and absencemanagementWhilst at time our young people can present with challenging behaviours what they require is empathy, patience, and positive energy to empower them to make sense of their journey to date and help them look to their future.To be shortlisted for interview,you will need to evidence: Your developed knowledge base around working with children or young adults with autism, learning disability and special needs in a residential setting; a minimum of three years. Your problem-solving skills - we need a fixer who ishappy to be the go-to person for any issues. Good understanding of the theories of attachment, trauma, and loss and how this impact upon a young persons life. That your values align with those of Woodlands and Surrey County Council.
