An opportunity has arisen for a Planning & Logistics Assistant to join our teams within our Plymouth facility. The successfulcandidate will be working within Silicon Sensing Systems Ltd. (SSSL) which is a joint venture company owned by Collins Aerospace (Atlantic Inertial Systems Ltd) and Sumitomo Precision Products located in Amagasaki, Japan. SSSL manufactures innovative MEMSbased inertial sensors designed by its parent companies and makes IMUs; these products are sold to commercial markets that range from marine, autonomous, robotics and space applications. Our growth plan includes development and extension of our current technologiesinto civil aircraft applications. Job Description As a Planning & Logistics Assistant working in the Joint Venture you will support the planning and logistics team in the successful execution of delivering product on-time, to meet customer demand. The successfulcandidate will report to the Manufacturing Coordinator You will be responsible for managing the ERP planning parameters to mitigate risk and optimise inventory. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with the movement of goods, shipping and loadingproduct into a motion simulator for calibration and test as required.Key Responsibilities - Scheduling the supply of materials to meet the master production scheduleWorking with supply chain to eliminate any shortfall of parts to the master production scheduleEnsuringexception messages are understood, actioned or planning parameters are correctedInventory Management to set targetsMaintaining material standards in the ERP systemInventory reportingHandling NPI and configuration impacts on materials within the ERP systemReviewof manufacturing and resource capacityAdditional Responsibilities include:Assist with the movement of material throughout the plant, from Goods In to manufacturing.Prepare material and issue to manufacturing.Assist with the receipt of finished Goods and locatein stores.Assist in the preparation and packing of finished goods for dispatch to the customer.Prepare shipping and export paperwork for dispatch of finished goods.Complete Courier requests, for shipments.Assist in Stock Cycle counting.Loading the productsonto motion simulator and conducting calibration and testPerson Specification -Understanding of ERP system principles and operations, ERP planning procedures and the integration of company functions provided by an ERP systemAble to apply analysis to balancerequirements of demand and supplyKnowledge of the different classes of inventory (raw materials, WIP, finished goods, MRO, service parts, damaged, and obsolete)Understanding of the five functions of inventory: cycle inventory, safety inventory, anticipationinventory, transportation inventory, and hedge inventoryThe successful candidate should have ERP knowledge and experience of performing the above in a similar role within a manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
