Pay: Apprentice wage £4.30/HourStart Date: Immediate We are looking to recruit anapprentice caretaker/site manager to join our site team at River PrimarySchool. This vital role will include training in all aspects of site managementso that you will beable to care for our school in a way that reflects the highstandards of our school community. Are you somebody who would take pride inensuring that our school site provides the best environment for children tolearn The site team is responsible forsecurity,caretaking and ensuring the site is safe and well-presented and thiswill involve liaising with the cleaning and grounds maintenance contractors aswell as general maintenance needs of the school and grounds Duties will include: Unlocking/locking theschoolTakingpride in maintaining allareas of our school site both internally and externally to a very highstandardUndertaking health & safetyinspections and keeping accurate health & safety records - for example fireand water hygieneLiaising with contractors e.g.caterers,cleanersSupervising contractors onsiteGeneral property and sitemaintenance including redecoration, small repairsEnsuring the outside areas arekept free from litter and leavesSome groundsmaintenanceUndertake cleaning duties of ouroffice areas plus other areasas requiredReplacing consumables e.g.lightbulbs and batteriesMaintaining stocks of consumablese.g. toilet rolls, paper towelsPorterage of goods delivered tothe siteWorking flexibly to support theschool with events e.g. parents evenings, PTFA events. This willinvolve somepre- arranged evenings.We are looking for someone withthe following skills: Good communicationCan do attitudeGood at problemsolvingAble to work independently and aspart of a teamAttention to detailAble to drive would be anadvantageAnd who hasthe followingqualities: Able to use owninitiativeTakes ownership ofworkOrganised and able toprioritiseWillingness to learnConfidence to work alone andapply skillsWe would ideally like someone whohas a level 4 qualification in English and Maths but if you dontwe wouldstill be happy to hear from you if you have the right skills and qualities.Please also let us know about any practical skills and experience you alreadyhave.
