International Finance Officer - Apprentice Location: Moorfields, London - with home workingHours: Full-time (35 hours per week)Contract type: Apprenticeship (3 years) transitioning to permanent employment on successful completionSalary: £24,690 per annum(including London Weighting) Do you have a passion for a career in International Finance and a genuine interest in working for an organisation who support people in crisis Why this role matters... We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an analyticaland solutions focussed individual to join the British Red Cross as an Apprentice International Finance Officer, supporting the International Finance Team in providing effective financial transaction and administrative support to the Middle East and North Africaregions. The work you will do will be crucial to the work of the organisation, and therefore vital to the lives of those in crisis. How youll make a difference... Reporting to the International Programme Accountant, you will provide an effective financialaccounting and reporting service to the Middle East and North Africa regions and respective Global Teams. In this rewarding role you will provide a diverse range of financial services including invoicing, month-end accounting and reporting processes, monthlyreview of financial performance with budget holders, balance sheet reconciliations, processing cashbooks, processing cash requests and grants, assisting with donor reporting, monthly journals and accruals, year-end accounting processes, financial controlsand supporting the BRC audit processes. With mentoring and coaching from both the International Programme Accountant (MENA), International Finance Manager and BRC support and funding, you will pursue a formal, funded, Level 7 Accountancy / Taxation Professionalqualification (leads to ACCA or CIMA membership) through the BRC Apprenticeship Scheme, and begin a financial career in the Not-for-Profit sector. More about this apprenticeship opportunity... The training provider for this apprenticeship opportunity is Kaplanwho will provide the level 7 Accountant and Taxation Professional Apprenticeship. You will receive tuition from experienced and qualified tutors, flexible study options, MyKapApp online resources and a dedicated Talent Coach for mentoring and support. Theduration of the apprenticeship training is 3 years, however where a learner has exemptions, the duration of the course will be reduced accordingly. Your week will involve 80% British Red Cross work, with the remaining 20% focussed on learning towards the qualification.The apprenticeship salary structure includes annual pay increases to reflect the growing level of knowledge and skill of the apprentice. Upon conclusion of the apprenticeship training, the salary will switch to a full BRC non-apprenticeship salary. The BritishRed Cross will support the 20% Off the Job Training commitment of an apprenticeship and any other elements. What youll bring to the role... With a desire to follow a career in International Finance particularly in the International Humanitarian sector,you will have a strong record of school academic or vocational achievement, you will be analytical and insightful with a robust problem-solving and decision-making approach. You will have previous financial or accounting administrative experience that includesbudget preparation and bookkeeping, and you will also have experience compiling and summarising materials for a variety of audiences. You will need to be highly computer literate with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerised account systems.Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are required with experience of using these to develop agreed solutions with others.
