Job Description

As the Site Operations Manager, you will be leading a large team in delivering best practice and ensuring their continued success.Client DetailsThis company, based in the Norfolk area, are a leading FMCG manufacturer with an established presence and they are in the midst of executing an exciting growth plan. As the Site Operations Manager you will be instrumental in ensuring they drive continuousimprovement as they invest in the site and ensure they continue to meet customer expectations.DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity and a chance to add value to the site. As the Site Operations Manager you will be key to ensuring the consistency of the factorys operational departments and support in driving it forward. Team development will be a significantpart of this role, ensuring the existing workforce can take on an increase in volume and bring in new skill sets as they continue to invest in new equipment and products. You will be creating a culture through empowering a continuous improvement mind-set andutilising change management to increase efficiency and quality.Key Responsibilities:

  • Part of the senior leadership team, overseeing the factory operation
  • Manage and Control Labour and Materials performance
  • Review, manage and further develop operational SOPs
  • Develop and embed production KPIs aligned with business objectives
  • Develop site ownership, aiming to increase site utilisation and performance
  • Utilise staff across the site & assigns the correct skills to support priority plants
  • Use appropriate leadership and behavioural styles to empower, involve and engage teams
  • Develop teams via regular coaching and mentoring, training and leadership by example
  • Monitor & communicates changes in company policies and procedures
  • Drive cost savings through efficient use of resources at their disposal.
  • Ensure efficient operation and control of site resources and make best use of skills vs production priorities
  • Ensure awareness of daily service levels for area of responsibility and a plan to achieve required service levels within the agreed timeframe
  • Identify and lead site Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Track effects of improvement projects through monthly meetings
  • Working closely with the engineering teams to ensure equipment and processes are efficient
  • Support ongoing capex investment in line with safety, OEE and quality targets
  • Work with the wider senior management team to improve performance and reduce waste across the site
  • Implement and sustain operational best practice with quality in mind
  • Review and cement all legislative and ethical standards with regard to HSE, hygiene and personnel management
  • Understand operational risks and ensure that the correct control measures are in place
ProfileThe successful candidate will have had prior experience as an Operations Manager, managing a sizeable team within an FMCG manufacturer and the following:
  • The ability to effectively engage, manage and develop a diverse workforce
  • Proven experience of utilising lean manufacturing tools and techniques to drive a best practice operation
  • Proven capability of delivering against operational KPIs
  • Experience working to high quality standards e.g. GMP
  • Health & Safety understanding
  • The ability to work collaboratively and effectively with the wider senior management team
  • Excellent communication skills and interact, interacting effectively at all levels within a business
