Job Description

Hurren & Hope are working with a company that is a world leader in agricultural gene-editing. They create new varieties of crops which allow growers and global consumers to benefit. The business works mainly on gene-editing of different seeds. The labis based in East Anglia.They are looking for a Research Scientist to join their growing team. A successful candidate will need a PhD in one of the following: Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Medicine, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or similar. As a research scientist you willassist in running of the lab and managing research technicians. The ability to work as a team is essential for this role. You will also be required to prove that you have experience with gene-editing technology.The role will include:* Collaborating with the team lead to decide what is the focus for technicians and give them appropriate tasks.* Plan and organise your day-to-day tasks.* Perform analysis and bench work* Compile gene-editing data to be able to be interpreted by the team lead* Ensure lab is clean and in order at the beginning and end of each dayExperience required:* You must have experience in genotyping assays (PCR, NGS)* A background in gene-editing technologies is a big plus* Fluency in English both speaking and writing* Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment* A PhD level degree in one of the relevant fields listed above.Benefits: * 25 days annual leave* Private Medical Insurance* 4% employer contribution to pension* Day to day cash back off of medical expenses* Group Income protection scheme* Good learning and training opportunities* Social events throughout the yearIf you would like more information on this role, please contact Jake or Lizzie./
