Job Description

Location:Quidenham, Norwich, NR16 2NZSalary: Up to £12,000Hours: 16 hours per week over 2 days, the one day must be a Thursday. Term Time Only. Closing Date:11th February 2021 at 11.59pmThe Role:As a School Nurse your role will be to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and compassionate medical and pastoral care at The Aurora Eccles School.Key duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a high standard of nursing care applying evidence-based practice at all times.
  • Communicate with pupils, parents and carers on emotional and sensitive issues and have the ability to adapt communication style to meet the needs of the pupils and parents.
  • To complete pupil risk assessments and PEEP’s and review as required.
  • To complete routine Medical Centre, medication and first aid audits and ensure accurate records are kept.
  • To promote health education to pupils, parents and carers as required.
  • To act as the pupils and or parents/carers advocate and ensure that the pupil’s health, developmental and emotional wellbeing are monitored and any concerns are raised with the Safeguarding, SLT and Clinical Team as required.
  • To have full management responsibility of the Medical Centre.
  • Effectively assess and delegate workload according to staff competencies in order to meet pupil’s needs as required.
  • Actively participate in meetings related to the Medical Centre and wider school areas such as Health and Safety and Infection Control

  • Registered General Nurse (Adult or Paediatric)
  • Valid NMC Registration
  • Documented evidence of continuing professional development
  • Hold a full driving licence
  • Experience of working in a school environment or working with children
  • Ability to understand a broad range of facts and information quickly and make safe decisions
