Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a motivated Education Service Manager to join a specialist education and day service college for people with sensory disabilities, including those with complex needs and learning disabilities, based in Norfolk.As the Education Service Manager, you will effectively manage a team to deliver high quality services, that meet organisational and regulatory standards, for people attending the education and day opportunities provision. The education provision is Ofsted regulated.Working with the Deputy Education Service Manager and senior college colleagues, you will:

  • Effectively manage, plan and implement quality education, learning and care provision for learners with sensory loss/impairment and additional learning difficulties.
  • Support specialist staff in achieving high standards of education provision that fulfils organisational and Ofsted statutory guidance.
  • Lead the continued success and future development of specialist education, learning and care provision for people with sensory loss/impairment and additional disabilities.
    • To be successful in this role you will hold a relevant teaching qualification and have experience of working in the field of specialist education and day service provision for people with sensory disabilities, including those with complex needs and learning disabilities.You will need to demonstrate proven experience of supervising and line managing staff in accordance with policy and legislation, as well as experience of managing misconduct, grievance, and performance issues.
  • Relevant degree or higher-level qualifications such as Challenging Behaviour Qualification
  • Level 5 or above teaching qualification or willingness to enrol for one within the first 12 months of being in post, such as Deafblind Diploma or MSI Qualification
  • At least 2 years experience in an educational management role or Management Qualification
  • A minimum of 2 years working with learners with disabilities and a working knowledge of Ofsted and Education and Skills Funding Agency requirements
  • Experience of curriculum planning and delivery for learners with S.E.N.D
  • Knowledge and understanding of DfE Keeping Children Safe in Education requirements in an educational environment
  • A working knowledge of specialist communication techniques in verbal and non-verbal communication
  • It would be advantageous to have BSL/Braille or similar qualification
  • Experience of care sector legislation
