Job Description

Our client, based in Norfolk and Suffolk, is currently recruiting for a Compliance and Asset Manager on a fixed term contract for 12 months. The position is due to start shortly on a full time basis. The salary is between £33,702 and £37,741 based on experience for this position.The ideal candidate will be qualified to a minimum level HNC/HND in building surveying or building studies/construction or equivalent, hold a NEBOSH construction site safety certificate or equivalent as well as a P402/403 qualification.Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Oversee all aspects of compliance across the organisations properties dealing with gas safety, electrical inspections, asbestos, fire, legionella and fire risk assessments
  • Support the operational and administrative staff in relation to compliance matters ensuring all recording of information is up to date, accurate and consistent
  • Ensure any central records, property files & databases are up to date and contain accurate data for planning, reporting scenario modelling and can be accessed in line with the duty to manage (Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations)
  • Provide timely and accurate data on compliance status and actions required
  • Develop a management system to enable the monitoring of compliance and provide regular and meaningful management reports
  • Manage the financial resources and be accountable for expenditure for any compliance related works, repairs and maintenance
  • Conduct an audit of existing records & properties; advise and make recommendations on health and safety issues concerning gas safety, electrical inspections, asbestos, fire, legionella and fire risk assessments for all aspects of the service
  • Action any agreed recommendations and source appropriate contractors and other suppliers to complete actions
  • Develop or review policies and written procedures in connection with property management and compliance & health and safety
  • Educate, support & develop staff on their awareness of a range of property risk and compliance matters
  • Meet all relevant prescribed targets and provide performance management information efficiently and effectively
  • Make preparations for the completion of a stock condition survey
  • Experience required:
  • Relevant experience in a similar role including managing Building Safety Standards
  • Must have experience in dealing with staff at a range of levels.
  • People and contractor management experience.
  • Experience in working to agreed targets
  • Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
  • Knowledge of design and maintenance processes including relevant legislation and codes e.g. fire, building regulations
  • Able to work on own initiative to a high standard
  • Able to meet tight deadlines
  • A responsive, constructive and flexible attitude towards working arrangements within a team environment and a small organisation
  • Good organisational skills
  • Proficient in IT (Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and Project)
  • Must have relevant construction, health and safety and best practice knowledge/legislation
  • Must have a commitment to diversity and equality of opportunity

  • Working hours:
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
