Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary and Secondary Level)Salary:£400-£450 per weekStart Date:ImmediatelyContract Type:Full-timeLocation:Newton Abbot, DevonAre you ready to embark on an exciting adventure and make a genuine difference in the lives of young studentsGSL Education is exclusively working withSEN Primary and Secondary client schoolsinNewton Abbot, to findSEN Teaching Assistants,where your everyday presence will affect the future ofspecial needs pupils.Role and Responsibilities:As a SEN Teaching Assistant,you will play an important role in assisting young learners with exceptional educational needs and challenging behaviours. Your tasks will include the following:

  • Individualised Support:Providing students with individualisedsupport to help them overcome the unique issues associated with their main autism diagnosis and challenging expectations.
  • Collaboration:Collaborating with educators, therapists, and other specialists to create an inclusive learning environment that matches each childs individual requirements.
  • Customised Educational Plans:Implementing specialisededucational programs and approaches to assist students in reaching their full potential and developmental milestones.
  • Social and Emotional Growth:Encourage and nurture social connection, communication, and emotional development, all of which are key components of growth for these children.
  • Personal Well-Being:Providing personal care to students to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Progress Tracking:Progress tracking comprises evaluating and reporting on students progress as well as actively participating in their education.
Requirements:
  • Candidates with experience in care and support work are preferred.
  • A genuine interest in education and a desire to see kids thrive.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Empathy and patience are required to engage effectively with pupils who face a variety of obstacles.
  • A proactive and adaptable strategy, capable of adapting to changing circumstances.
  • School experience would be beneficial but not required.
  • AnEnhanced DBS on the update service, or willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
