Mechanical Fitters, Mechanical Engineers, Engineers, MaintenanceJob Title: Mechanical Fitter Salary: £27,892 per annum Location: Newton Abbot, Devon Our client is an industry leading producer of Gas Turbine Powered Generators, based in Newton Abbot.We are looking for hard-working, skilled Mechanical Fitters to assist in the mechanical installation and maintenance of these systems in line with specifications and drawings to meet customer requirements. Your duties as a Mechanical Fitter include but are not limited to: * Follow engineering drawings to confirm installation requirements have been met* Assist Mechanical Coordinator with review of engineering drawings, in relation to their accuracy and compliance with agreed standards.* Report all non-conformance issues* Installation of mechanical systems, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components into Generator Package Sets IAW build documentation and specifications.* Fit equipment including gas turbine engines, gearboxes, generators, and motors as required.* Carry out precision alignment of engines, generators, gearboxes, and other equipment in accordance with procedures using a variety of precision tooling and measuring equipment.* Fabricate and install small bore pipework using hand, electric and CNC tube benders. (Training provided)* Fabricate, modify, and rectify nonstandard components to engineering design IAW processes and procedures.* Assist with the testing of gas turbine engines.* Use a variety of mechanical lifting techniques and equipment (Overhead gantry crane, slinging, chain hoists, hydraulic jacks etc). Training provided.* Carry out repairs on equipment / tooling / machinery, including full diagnostic investigation, selection of parts, repair and final checks as directed by co-ordinator.* Carry out continuous improvement and special projects, including refurbishment, overhaul, * diagnostics, and repair of equipment.* Work at customer sites and installations both in the UK and abroad.* Carry out duties compatible with this job and the employees individual skills as required by management.Essential skills and qualifications required:* Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or extensive related experience.* Minimum Level 3 Mechanical BTEC National Certificate or City & Guilds* Experience of general mechanical fitting in a comparable industry e.g., aerospace, marine, automotive, or heavy plant.* Working knowledge of power generation systems* Confidence in the use of hand and power tools * Competent in the use of measuring equipment including micrometres and DTIs* IT literate, with knowledge of Microsoft OfficeBenefits include: * 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays* Health Insurance Scheme * Overtime available at enhanced rates of pay * Free onsite parking * Free drinks refreshments in welfare room If your skills match the above requirements please apply today!
