Job Description

Estates SurveyorINSIDE IR353 Month Contract£450 Umbrella Per dayJoin our innovative and dynamic team as an Asset Surveyor in a role that offers a unique opportunity to lead impactful projects without disclosing the specific employer. This is a Grade PO4 position with a competitive salary.Position Details:

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Main duties and responsibilities
a) Organise the letting of premises to new tenants and the re-letting of premises to existing tenants upon expiry of their leases.b) General management, valuations, rent reviews and lease renewals of the Councils property interests.c) Negotiations with public and private sector owners and developers.d) Coordinate the Councils own development projects to ensure targets and deadlines are met.e) Identify assets with developmental potential and consider planning, legal and financial implications.f) Dispose of assets no longer required by the authority.g) Investigate and provide information on the possible acquisition of new assets and feasibility studies on potential sites for development.h) Represent the Council at internal and external meetings to ensure the Councils interests are protected and provide advice on property related matters.i) Undertake valuations for capital accounting purpose in accordance with the RICS Red Book and Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) requirements.j) Undertaking of any other duties appropriate to the post.Role-Specific Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:Qualifications:
  • Member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
  • RICS Accredited Valuer
  • Maintain RICS membership with required annual continuing professional development.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Collaborative work with other professional disciplines, Council groups, external agencies, and the community.
  • Budget management (in excess of £5 million).
  • Service performance monitoring and implementation of efficiency savings.
  • Effective communication of advice to various stakeholders.
  • Chairing high-level and complex meetings.
  • Competence in providing interpretation, analysis, advice, and guidance on complex issues.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of key asset legislation, policies, and emerging best practices.
Experience:
  • Detailed experience in asset management across a wide range of property types within a complex customer-focused environment.
  • Corporate working, collaboration across the authority and with external partners.
  • Experience in acquisitions and disposals of assets to support regeneration initiatives.
Desirable Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:
  • Practical understanding of RICS valuation global standards.
  • Practical knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and guidance, including RICS.
  • Supervisory ability.
  • Clear report writing and presentation on detailed property matters.
  • Practical experience associated with a specific discipline.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team.
  • Collection and analysis of complex information, considering and evaluating all relevant factors.
  • Planning, coordinating, and delivering tasks and programs to meet targets.
  • Operating with minimum supervision.
  • Adherence to deadlines and effective workload prioritization.
  • Good interpersonal, literacy, and numeracy skills.
