Children and Young People’s Support Workers (Part Time)Dartington, Nr Totnes£9.34 - £9.98 per hourPart time, working Friday and Saturday afternoons and eveningsOur client is looking for amazing Support Workers to join the team at their 10 bed Residential & Shortbreak Home in Dartington.Children and young people with learning disabilities and their families are at the heart of everything our client does, and they want every person they support to have a great life with excellent outcomes. They couldn’t achieve that without all the great Support Workers who join their care teams. It all starts with you!There is no such thing as a typical’ Support Worker. Staff come from lots of different backgrounds; people with little or no experience but want a job that involves helping people, those who want a change of career, as well as experienced Support Workers. The one thing that links them all together is their desire to work with young people with learning disabilities, make their lives better, and help them to learn something new or take a further step towards independence.No two days will be the same as you will get involved in a variety of different tasks and activities whilst helping the young people to learn the skills they need to live the life they choose.Ideally, you will have previous experience in this sector and hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Though this qualification is by no means essential, a willingness to gain the qualification within two years is required.
