Job Description

Software & Content Developer (Junior)

  • Up to £22,000 (DOE)
TSR Legal are proud to be working with a legal 500 firm with offices in Newport and Cardiff who now have a brand-new opportunity for a Software and Content Developer for their Newport offices. Experience of using Python is essential.This newly created role will involve hands-on programming as well as supporting and managing the day-to-day applications of the Case management Systems and other key software applications to ensure users are able to process relevant information and reportsas needed.Day to day duties will involve:
  • Liaising with both technical and non-technical professionals to help develop up to date applications for both internal and external clients, working in an AGILE environment
  • Helping maintain appropriate Software Development Methodologies.
  • Assisting in producing and implementing test plans for both new and modified systems (TDD)
  • Assisting with the integration of Practice Management Software with intermediary systems built on different platforms.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of the mobile applications within both iOS and Android operating systems.
  • Assisting in the development of next generation applications, content and services, utilised both from a business and clientele perspective, including Microsoft .NET framework (C#, Asp.net WebApi/MVC, WPF), Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Support the development team in maintaining all areas of software, including the software development roadmap and system architecture.
Qualifications & Training:Essential:
  • A Level (or equivalent) in IT or a similar subject.
  • An excellent understanding of object orientated programming and software design principals, such as SOLID.
  • Full working knowledge and experience of Microsoft SQL Server and database design.
  • Experience with IDE (Visual Studio, Visual Studio code, SSMS).
  • Demonstrable experience in designing and delivering IT training solutions.
Desirable:
  • IT Degree or equivalent.
  • Experience with Case Management Systems.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of HTML5/CSS3, Javascript, C# and Asp.net.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Test Driven Development.
  • Extensive working knowledge of RESTful web services.
  • Experience of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines.
  • Experience using XML, XAML and Python.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps.
  • Experience of working within the legal industry.
