Job Description

Venn Group Senior Verification EngineerAgency Reference: 7021540Newport (Onsite Working Required)6 months (Extension Likely)Daily Rate (DoE)**SC Clearance Required**Our client, a major defence and security organisation, urgently require a Senior Verification Engineer to execute allocated Verification Work Packages within agreed cost, quality and time constraints.In order to be successful, it is essential that you have the following experience:

  • Strong automation testing experience with Gherkin and Cucumber
  • Experience of working within a DevOps environment
  • Familiar with test, integration, verification and validation methods for software and hardware product development
  • Have a good understanding of requirements capture, and of work package definition and estimation
  • Working knowledge of Cryptographic Devices
  • SC Clearance
    • Desirable skills include:
  • Experience working in Agile or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) teams
  • Experience of Agile/DevOps tools such as Jira, Confluence and Git
  • CCNA standard experience and working knowledge of network configuration and operation
  • Working knowledge of some or all of the following:
  • Cryptographic Devices, Key Management and Distribution Systems
  • Secure Communications Systems and Network Devices
  • Windows hosted software applications
  • Embedded software applications
  • CE approval of equipment
  • TCP/IP network configuration and test
  • Integration/test of database systems (e.g. Oracle/SQL)
  • Test script/software development (Windows and Unix environments)
  • Black box software testing
  • EMC, Safety, Environmental, TEMPEST qualification testing
  • Experience of product V&V to achieve UK approved cryptographic/TEMPEST standards
    • Within this exceptional role, you will be responsible for:
  • Specifying, performing and documenting electronics hardware design for allocated elements of the product design architecture
  • Ensuring Electronics hardware is designed, developed, integrated and tested in accordance with client standards
  • Ensuring, tools and methodologies are used to design and deliver allocated electronics hardware development work packages meeting cost, time and quality targets, agreed with the engineering team leader
  • Ensuring Electronics hardware development plans can be estimated in detail, and resource requirements can be allocated against plans
  • Supporting the design and development of critical components where decisions have a significant impact on project timescales
  • Controlling the work of the Verification and Validation team, including elements subcontracted to external test houses, to deliver the allocated project Work Packages
