Job Description

Newly created green field roles for a major project for the organisation.Client DetailsMy client is a highly successful business with multiple sites globally within the industrial/manufacturing space. A well regarded business in the automotive space, they have a large operation here in Wales which has a great culture and career progression.DescriptionReporting to the Senior Director of purchasing, the Senior Buyers will be responsible for

  • Leading strategic sourcing focusing on European and Asian supply bases
  • Achieve cost reduction goals as assigned by the business
  • Working cross functionally with internal departments
  • Collaboration with internal teams and members of staff to align and develop sourcing strategies
  • Heading up and leading internal projects
  • Ensuring continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
  • Developing ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
  • Assessing and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities
  • Ensuring that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
ProfileThe successful candidate will
  • Have previous experience as a buyer in purchasing & cost reduction
  • Have prior experience within a manufacturing environment ideally electronics/automotive
  • Have strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Have extensive knowledge of raw material pricing along with an understanding of market indexes, ideally EUR, USD, CNY, TRY
  • Be experienced in global stakeholder engagement
  • Posses knowledge of Oracle R12
  • Ideally have Six Sigma green belt/black
  • Ideally posses Project Management Certification but non essential
