Job Description

Reed Education are proud be an official accredited provider on the National Procurement Service (NPS) supplying educational staff to all schools in Wales. As a result, we are committed to offering the minimum pay rate for teachers of £138.56 per day and will always strive to get you paid to your highest scale where the role determines.We are working with schools within the Newport area and looking to recruit Special Educational Needs (SEN) teachers looking for their next work placement. We have short-term, long-term, part-time and full-time vacancies available. Some of our vacancies are in schools dedicated solely to special needs and additional learning needs but other roles are supporting SEN within a mainstream school environment. We recruit at both primary and secondary education level and our schools deal with pupils that are on the Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or who have Autism, Social Emotional Behaviour Disorder (SEBD), Complex Educational Needs and general Additional Learning Needs (ALN).As part of your role, you will have the ability to inspire the students, you will be able to demonstrate excellence in your classroom practice and have strong skills in behaviour management accompanied with clear communication skills.The successful applicant will need:

  • Preferably QTS status but NQT applicants will also be considered.
  • To have experience planning and delivering lessons.
  • To be approachable and flexible.
  • To be conscientious, enthusiastic and positive.
  • To have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • To have the ability to differentiate lessons as often students are of mixed ability and therefore you must be able to adapt and plan lessons that are engaging and inclusive for pupils of all levels in order to ensure that pupils are progressing well within the classroom.
  • Experience of completing marking and assessments.
