Job Description

Quantity Surveyor/ Estimator - Must have RC Frame experienceLocation: Newport, GwentMy client is a leading reinforced concrete subcontractor specialist, delivering projects such as concrete frames, motorways, highway/bridge structures, retaining walls and radius tanks for the water treatment industry, blast walls for the munitions industryas well as slabs for the metal recycling industry.They pride themselves on delivering high quality and within budget and have a longstanding and trustworthy relationship with their clients.My client is looking for a well experienced Quantity Surveyor/ Estimator to join their ever growing team in the office in Newport.The right candidate MUST have previous RC Frame experience and a good knowledge of concrete.Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Good maths knowledge.
  • Perfect attention to details.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Knowledge of building and construction.
  • Ability to use your initiative.
  • Liaising with clients to identify their needs.
  • Estimating quantities, costs and time scales for material and labour.
  • Preparing the documents for tender and contracts.
  • Identifying commercial risks and weighing up the outcome/ scenario.
  • Assigning work to subcontractors.
  • Valuing completed work, managing budgets and overseeing payments.
  • Ensuring projects meet legal and quality standards.
  • Ensuring value for money for the clients.
  • Advising on the maintenance costs of specific buildings.
  • Submitting budget reports regularly.
  • Following building regulations and health and safety.
MUST HAVE RC FRAME EXPERIENCE.Beneficial experience:
  • Civils
  • Concrete
