Job Description

Quality Control OperatorNewport (training taking place in Treforest initially)Permanent£12.55 per hourMonday to Thursday - 8am to 4.30pm, Friday, 7am to 12pmAcorn by Synergie is looking for Quality Control Operator to work in Newport for their client. There will be travelling to Treforest for initial 2 months work. Fuel allowance will be given to cover whilst working in Treforest.Essential - Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Sampling, measuring, and verifying that manufactured products meet pre-determined quality standards.
  • Maintenance of relevant Quality and product specifications as needs arise.
  • Perform in quality function to maximise and sustain continual improvement in standards by ensuring:
  • The most effective use of resources is made in the support of production processes.
  • Rapid communication of issues is made to the relevant management level.
Key Skills:
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software.
  • Certified Internal Quality Auditor.
  • Good understanding of statistical process control (SPC).
  • Understand & use of measuring equipment - ruler, scales etc.
Desirable Skills:
  • Qualification to NVQ level 4 in a quality qualification
  • Experience in lean manufacturing / continuous improvement techniques & tools 5s, Kaisen etc.
  • Quality / Auditing experience in a lean culture manufacturing environment
  • Awareness & experience of modern improvement tools & techniques
  • Relevant industry recognised Quality Assurance qualification.
  • Experience of working in a chemical, biological or pharmaceutical laboratory.
