QC Team Leader

We have served the global diagnostics industry for over 50 years and due to our continued growth, we are seeking a QC Team Leader to join our team.This is a permanent, full time position based at our facility in Crumlin.Role OverviewReporting directly to the Global QC Leader, the post-holder will be responsible for supervising the Quality Control (QC) function ensuring all product tests/activities under job description are carried out on time and in line with set specifications, customerrequirements, global quality /site procedures, industry standards and regulations as required.Role RequirementsKey responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Directly responsible for scheduling QC testing (including stability testing) and supervising the QC lab to ensure adherence to schedule
• Generate Quality Metrics and escalate any trends or patterns to Global QC Leader
• Perform Line manager responsibilities for the Senior QC Scientist and QC Scientists including, but not limited to, 1:1s, appraisals, objective setting, coaching and development
• Recruit and select team members as required, report resource requirements to Global QC Leader
• Ensure QC team members are trained to conduct their assigned duties, manage team training records and matrices
• In conjunction with the QC Projects Leader drive improvements within the QC department, using Continuous Improvement techniques such as lean, six sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping
• Champion 5S within the QC Laboratory
• Investigate out of specification and out of trend results. Alert Global QC Leader and Manufacturing Managers to any significant quality problem that is identified by the QC Team
• Use of root cause analysis and problem-solving tools to investigate causes of non-conformities, out of trend results and deviations. Support process improvements as required
• Prioritise actions to manage any non-conformance, deviation or quality issue detected by QC and alert Global QC Leader and Manufacturing Manager of these matters as soon as is reasonably practical
• Initiate required changes to QC documents in accordance with change control procedures. Ensure documented quality control procedures are implemented and maintained and are available to all department staff
• Implement trend analysis to monitor product performance and aid proactive decision making with regard to Product Quality
• Ensure all QC equipment is qualified, calibrated and maintained in line with QMS requirements
• Act as key customer contact for specific products and represent QC at various meetings, including R&D project transfers
• Ensure all external customer communications are managed promptly and professionally
• Provide technical expertise to support customer enquiries and complaints
• Participate in customer and regulatory audits as QC SME
• Manage QC Inventory
• Assist Global QC Leader in department budget preparation and maintain expenditure within the approved budget.
• Ensure that adequate and independent reviews of all QC records have been carried out by an authorised person prior to acceptance / release of product from QC
