Job Description

Commutable Location: Cardiff, Newport, Bristol, Bridgend, Merthyr TydfilCompany profile:Would you like to work for a global leader My clients are the forefront of software solutions industry providing services to blue chip business. After a very successful 2019 they are looking to make a number of experienced hires for their business solutions division including a Project Manager.Main Responsibilities:- Works with the Product Management team to ensure projects deliver strategic product roadmaps as planned- Ensures delivery of all projects to agreed criteria of cost, time and quality- Ensures effective and accurate cost control and financial reporting across all projects, including identification and optimisation of chargeable change items and visibility of costs vs. budget- Works with Commercial and Client Services teams to ensure effective price/commercial negotiations- Manages and builds good working relationships with all internal and external clients at all levels, setting and exceeding client expectations and maximising co-operation- Works closely with all other departments to ensure that all projects have been effectively scoped and delivery milestones agreed by each department- Provides essential progress and status reporting across the portfolio of projects, highlighting risks and issues for escalation to the internal sponsors and programme board- Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, which encourages a lean operation and develop a high performance culture in which customer and client requirements are appropriately balanced- Responsible for the definition and implementation of processes, documentation and tools to gather the internal or external clients requirement effectively to deliver projects smoothly- Owns and runs project reviews, and ensures lessons learnt and best practices are absorbed and integrated into business and project processes- Ensure that risk within the project management team is effectively managed and that all regulatory requirements are met, ensuring that client remains fully compliant at all times and a culture of Treating Customers Fairly is embedded throughout the team- Manages project and any bid work in line with the clients project management framework and SDLC (software development lifecycle)- People Perspective- Promotes a culture that encourages high levels of staff motivation and morale with regular and effective communication- Ensures the coaching and development of team members to fulfil their roles and to establish career plans and advise the actions required to realise those plansKey Skills:- Prince 2 or equivalent professional qualification- Proven experience of building client relationships at all levels- Ability to build effective working relationships with clients and internal teams to ensure that projects are delivered in line with the defined requirements- Project planning experience using MS Project- Experience maintaining resource plans- Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering projects in line with cost, quality and time constraints- Demonstrable experience at managing budgets and forecasts- Experienced at managing teams- Accountability- Problem Solving- Innovative- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written- Excellent organisational skills- Strong time management skills- Commercial awareness- Strong project management techniquesBeneficial:- Exposure to ISO/CMMI frameworks- Demonstrable experience implementing new client projects within an outsourced operation- Experience implementing Financial Services projects- Understanding and experience of working with strategic roadmaps.- Working knowledge of Agile methodology (scrum, sprint)My client is reviewing C.Vs this week, to be considered or to find out more information please get in touch either by email or to my direct line.George Aldridge – Email: george.aldridge@
