  • The RoleAs a Production Scientist, you will be responsible for the bulk production of lateral flow immunoassays. You will also be trained on all things relating to the production of LFIs, to include gold conjugation and scale optimization. Additionally, you will provide assistance to the development team with development projects being validated and transferred into manufacturing. To ensure product quality, the Production Scientist is also responsible for maintaining the Production Laboratory in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the practices adopted on-site.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
  • Supervision of and Manufacture and assembly of Rapid Test components.
  • Compliance with BBI’s quality system requirements.
  • Completing non conformances, deviations and CAPA within BBI’s quality system.
  • Keeping and reviewing GMP compliant records.
  • Training of all Production employees in your team in new documents, document updates and new processes
  • Liaison with other departments to ensure the smooth functioning of manufacturing.
  • Meet daily production targets
  • Production Scientist checks for all products in manufacture, including the Kitting process.
  • Spot checks on all processes.
  • Ensuring batch record completion is up to date and accurate.
  • Adherence to all SOPs, EPs and relevant documents and verification that Production Technicians are adhering to these procedures.
  • Operating various pieces of production equipment associated with the manufacture of Rapid Test Components
  • Maintenance, calibration and cleaning of designated equipment and production areas.
  • Labelling and reconciliation of Rapid Test Components.
  • Packing and finishing of Rapid Test Components.
  • Adhering to Health and Safety regulations
  • Change control - Review and update of documents and or processes currently within the Production Department
  • Responsible for maintaining individual Training Record
  • Participation in Validation Activities i.e. review of new Prep production procedures and manufacture of Pilot and Validation batches of product.
  • RequirementsTo be successful in your application you will need to demonstrate your ability to work as part of a team, with great organisational skills and a right first time’ attitude. This role is best suited to an individual who holds a Batchelors degree in a scientific discipline who has previous laboratory experience and a good understanding of GMP.If you are an internal employee applying for this vacancy you and your manager are required to complete an internal transfer form.
