Acorn Recruitment is working with a leading manufacturer in Newport seeking Production Operatives to be part of a new team. Shift pattern on a rota with days, afternoons, nights and weekends. Shift allowance paid. Overtime available. Key Responsibilities:* Operating machinery to assist in the production process* Conducting visual quality checks of all product* Loading and unloading product onto production line* Undertaking manual handling activities* Operating Robots manually if any problems occur (full training will be given)* Running the Oxide Mill - working with pure lead and heat torches* Abiding by all Health & Safety guidelines* Ensuing that good housekeeping / 5s standards are maintained within the area of responsibilitySkills / Experience / Qualifications required:* Previous experience with heavy industry products and hot metals* Numerate and literate - GCSE passes in Mathematics and English Language would be desirable.* PC literate with knowledge of Microsoft would be a benefit* Robotic knowledge would be an advantage* Knowledge of FIFO system is desirableThe Individual:* An enthusiastic individual with a responsible attitude* A common sense approach, with good interpersonal skills* Attention to detail and being a team player is important* Ability to work under pressure and achieve targets* Must be flexible in their working hours* Must be able to wear an Airflow mask as this is mandatory due to the nature of the workAcorn Recruitment Ltd is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
