Job Description

Power Electronics Test EngineerNewportPermanentFull time35000-40000Are you a qualified power electronics engineer Do you want the challenge of working for a growing business Then this role might just be for you!In this role you are going to take full ownership of performing any requested test by following the test specifications, methodology and procedures, selecting required test equipment and/or creating any customised test rig, satisfying the test standards,executing the test safely and accurately.Key responsibilities :

  • Producing test results. Summarising main findings, conclusions and challenges and presenting your results.
  • Identifying the test equipment that you need and for any test required
  • PCB assembly and testing for any customised test rig
  • Perform various electrical and thermal characterisation tests and reliability, lifetime and environmental tests for SiC/GaN on-wafer or packaged devices (training will be provided if needed).
Skills and experience:
  • BEng in Electrical to electronic engineering or equivalent
  • Industrial experience in power electronics or similar field
  • Knowledge/experience of performing multiple tests on semiconductors
  • Understanding practicalities of high-power devices, noise immunity, grounding, electrostatic discharge handling and oscilloscope probing techniques.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.
