Job Description

Are you driven by a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable individuals and seeking your next unique challengeIf so, BRC are working in partnership with a national homeless charity to recruit for a resilient homeless prevention worker to start in their Team in central Newport.Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver a high-quality programme of support which develops trusting and supportive relationships with homeless rough sleepers in a person focused and compassionate manner.
  2. Engage with individuals experiencing homelessness, addition, or other forms of crisis, both on the streets and outreach centres.
  3. Offer emotional support, building trust and rapport with clients.
  4. Able to successfully manage a caseload of clients.
  5. Provide advice and guidance of housing options, benefits, and employment opportunities.
  6. Working from a multi-disciplinary approach to supporting rough sleepers.
  7. Confident and resilient in supporting a range of vulnerable individuals.
  8. Conduct needs assessments and develop support plans for individuals.
To be successful in this position, you will need to hold previous experience working in homelessness support services. You will be empathetic, compassionate, and non-judgemental. Furthermore, you will have a good understanding of housing options (private& social housing), and the housing application process. You will also need the confidence to manage your own workload and can work using your own initiative to tackle crisis situations.Not only will you be the given the opportunity to work within a very challenging and fulfilling role, but you will also contribute to a project implementation that will expand you experience in the support sector.
