These are just a few words that describe the Critical Care Nurses that work within ABUHB.Are you interested in developing your nursing skills and have a desire to care for critically ill patientsIn ABUHB we have an established Outreach service spanning back over the past 15 years. Until recently that service was funded 9-5, five days a week. Phase 1: We now have the ability to extend this vital service including an exciting merger with the Resuscitation team to provide a 7-7, seven days a week, Outreach and Resuscitation service.Phase 2 will see this service extended to 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We have developed core competencies that along with the support of existing practitioners, will aid the transition of the critical care nurse into the outreach/resuscitation role. We take pride in our Outreach/Resus service which delivers the highest quality care to the acutely unwell patient. The role also involves formal and informal teaching; including adult, paediatric and neonatal courses, support of ward based staff, audit, follow up and service improvement. We are dedicated to developing and supporting all our staff through education, training and clinical supervision.Nevill hall and the Royal Gwent Critical Care units has now almalgamated with the newly developed 30 bedded Unit at a new Specialist Critical Care Centre (The Grange University Hospital) at Llanfrechfa, Cwmbran. The 560 bed new build hospital will provide complex specialist and critical care treatment and will also include a 24 hour acute assessment and Emergency Department.The directorate is looking for enthusiastic and motivated nurses who are keen to pursue a career within critical care nursing, and be part of this new venture.The role is covering all 3 of our sites, Royal Gwent Hospital, Nevil Hall Hosital and Llanfrechfa Grange University Hospital.Candidates are required to be flexible and reliable in their approach to work.
