This new post provides an exciting opportunity to play a key role within the ophthalmology service with the implementation of an electronic patient record.The post holder will be required to provide an effective “day to day” Information Technology support provision to the Ophthalmology Department users and the Optometric Practices with the implementation of an Electronic Patient Record. Supporting the development of the Regional Eye-Care Electronic Patient Records and the support of e-Optometry (Referrals).The key skills required will be the ability to provide support with the implementation of the system and maintain user accounts, system application rights, supporting computer hardware e.g. desktops, hardware, cabling, printers and imaging devices supporting the National Application.Having the ability to resolve any problems in relation to computer system errors, requiring analysis of the particular issue and resolution of problems. It is essential that the successful candidate possesses excellent communication skills and is able to work well within a team, but also be able to work on their own initiative and organise their own workload.The successful post holder(s) will be a key member of the Ophthalmology Directorate but will also link professionally to the Informatics lead aligned to the Electronic Patient Record implementation.It is essential the successful candidate possesses a HNC in a relevant subject or equivalent qualifications and experience. A degree in computing is desirable.
