NHS Corporate Services Manager - Risk and AssuranceBand 7Acorn is working in a recruitment partnership with the NHS Wales. We are looking for Corporate Services Manager - Risk and Assurance to start immediately to be based at NHS Headquarters, St Cadocs Hospital site, Caerleon near Cardiff, this will be a 6 month fixed term contract role. Job Summary / Job Purpose: - You will be responsible for developing, managing and co-ordinating the Health Boards approach to corporate risk management across the organisation in line with the Health Boards agreed Risk Management Strategy and Policy and associated Risk Appetite Statement. - You will work with the Board Secretary and Head of Corporate Governance to ensure the efficient functioning of the Health Boards committee and risk and assurance framework, and will be the secretariat for identified committees. - To provide managerial support for the Board Secretary and Head of Corporate Governance in the ongoing development and implementation of the Health Boards corporate governance, risk and assurance framework, ensuring due compliance with all statutory requirements. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:Risk and Assurance You will work with the Board Secretary and Head of Corporate Governance to ensure effective corporate risk management systems and processes are established and maintained, including the implementation of electronic risk systems e.g. Risk Module (DATIX) to aid the capture, management and learning from effective risk management. This will require you to lead the design, development and delivery of the Health Boards Risk Management Strategy and Policy and its ongoing implementation on a day to day basis. The role will manage on a day-to-day basis the Health Boards corporate risk register and its regular updating and review including timely identification, management and mitigation of risk. This will require you to analyse and provide analysis and interpretation on complex information contained in the risk management system and also provide advice and make judgements on the assessment of the adequacy of the Health Boards risk management system in order to achieve a collaborative approach for risk processes across the complex service and organisational structure for risk management within the Health Board. To establish and maintain processes for the appropriate reporting of corporate risk, including the development and maintenance of corporate and committee risk registers for the Health Board. To compile and produce reports for the Executive Team, Committees and the Board concerning corporate risk management and the effective implementation and interconnectedness of risk approaches across the organisation including the systematic review, assessment, monitoring and escalation of risks. To ensure that the Corporate Risk Management Policy and Strategy is kept up to date, in line with good practice and current legislation. You will be expected to work in a pro-active manner and to facilitate understanding and awareness via presentations to large groups, workshops and regular meetings across all divisions and corporate departments with regard to the Health Boards risk management arrangements. This will include the development and co-ordination of an organisation-wide Risk Managers Network to facilitate learning and the sharing of good practice. The role will have a key role in leading and motivating the Network to promote collaboration to improve risk processes and the performance of the organisations risk management system to deliver standardisation and consistency of risk management approaches across the Health Board.Acorn Recruitment Ltd is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
