Mechanical Fitter Newport £24,000 - £27,000 + Pension + Holiday + Training + Progression + Overtime Excellent opportunity for a mechanically-biased engineer to join a friendly 3rd generation company in a stable role within a good working environment. This company has been providing specialist heavy engineering services for over 100 years. Their services include repairs, machining and fabrication for a variety of industries. In this workshop based role you will be providing maintenance to a variety of heavy machines, primarily for the steel mill industry among others. You will be working on an alternating shift pattern of 6:00am-13:30pm and 13:30pm-21:00pm. The ideal candidate will be mechanically-biased with experience providing maintenance to heavy machines. Any experience working as a fitter in the steelworks industry would be beneficial but not required and being apprentice trained would also be positively viewed. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable company in a varied workshop-based role with opportunities for training and progression as well as the potential to increase basic earnings through overtime. The Role: *Monday - Friday, shift: (6:00am-13:30pm and 13:30pm-21:00pm), 35 hour week *Opportunity for double days if desired *Maintenance of a variety of heavy machinery The Person: *Mechanically-biased *Experience providing maintenance to heavy machinery *Any experience working with steelworks machinery would be beneficial but not required *A completed apprenticeship is also highly beneficial *Commutable to Newport or willing to relocate.
