Job Description

Berry Recruitment are working with a production company in Newport who produce valves and export them worldwide. Having over 70 years industry experience they are a stable, established and a leader in production.They are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join them in the Newport facility. As a Mechanical Fitter your job role will include:

  • To assemble valves utilising machined and purchased components which are compliant to drawing against the production plan.
  • Shrink fitting of components using Liquid Nitrogen.
  • Modify parts to fit using power tools.
  • Hydrostatic Shell & Seat High Pressure Testing.
  • Recording and reporting Non Conformance.
  • Material Handling upto 5 tonnes (Heavy Industry)
To be considered for this Mechanical Fitter role it is expected that you will have the following skills and attributes:
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Using measuring equipment, Vernier, callipers, micrometre, hole gauge Etc.
  • Use of lathe, milling m/c, drill
  • Safe use of liquid nitrogen
  • Basic Maintenance
  • Use of overhead crane
  • Preferably a qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline OND/HND/HNC
