Job Description

Ford & Stanley Interim- The Rail Recruitment Experts are seeking Material Controllers to join a leading global Rolling Stock Manufacturing company based at their Newport facility in Wales.Location : Newport, WalesDuration: 6 month contract, Monday to Friday 07:00-16:00 initial hoursRole and Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate activities within the team as directed by the team leaders
  • Ensure timely closure of NCRs through the NCR process
  • To lead the warehouse operative team in the absence of the team leaders
  • Ensure maximum efficiency is achieved within stores area
  • Ensure consistent standards of stock accuracy is met and maintained
  • Run daily cycle count reports against the monthly calendar to maintain the 99.50% accuracy including stock takes as and when required
  • Working closely with planning and external partners to plan production for kitting
  • Contribute in a hands-on role in all warehouse activities
  • Ensure the delivery of materials to production lines in accordance with production schedules
  • Support organising and participate in stock takes at regular intervals
  • Ensure that any computerised or automated systems are accurate and up to date
  • Ensure hazardous materials are stored in accordance with requirements
  • Packing and shipping of components
  • Liaising with external agents for both storage and shipping
  • Insuring the despatch of trains and components in a safe and timely manner
  • Writing of work instructions to complete daily tasks within logistics

  • BAAN ERP experience
  • Logisitcs/Warehousing in a similar role
  • Ability to lead and train colleagues as and when required
  • Picking and packing
  • Flexibilility surrounding working hours to meet the demands of the department
