Job Description

I am recruiting for a well-known Manufacturing business who is based in Newport. My client is going through a period of change and with that in mind is seeking to find a Management Accountant to join its small team.Reporting into the FC and the main duties of the role will include the below -

  • Assist the Finance business partner with Annual standard review with a particular focus on raw material standards
  • Prepare site Gross Margin and Inventory analysis reports
  • Track and report on savings initiatives such as GMI and procurement
  • Administer and process stock adjustment process, seeking relevant approvals
  • Calculation of stock provisioning requirements in line with the accounting policy manual
  • Monitor the results of inventory cycle and work with the Supply Chain to investigate the root cause and agree process improvements
  • Attend quarterly and annual stock takes
  • Analyse materials variances inclusive of PPV and material yield variance
  • Report on working capital
  • Review the weekly production variance report
  • Support the budget and forecast process
  • Provide financial support to New product, Continuous Improvement and procurement initiatives
  • Cost supplier reject compensation requests
  • Be responsible for the site Fixed Asset register
  • Assist in Minimum Control Standards audits
  • Periodic review of BOM assumptions, labour and overhead rates
  • Support Finance business partner in data cleansing reviews, such as BOMs and other systems data
  • Review the goods received not invoiced report supplied by SSC and ensure the timely closure of older items.
  • Undertake adhoc analysis as require by the Finance Business Partner
Skills Experience Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing desirable
  • Advanced excel skills required along with aptitude for picking up new systems
  • Experience in report building - particularly using Microsoft query/ Power query would be an advantage
  • Studying towards a professional accounting qualification, ACA, ACCA, CIMA. Qualified by experience also considered.
